Kay Brattan is a Canadian theatre director, dramaturg, producer, and actor. Originally from Toronto, Canada, she has been based in London, UK since 2018.
Kay’s actor training comes from the prestigious Theatre Performance programme at Humber College in Toronto. She is also a graduate of East 15’s Directing Programme, where she was awarded an MA with distinction in theatre directing. She has studied with GITIS International in Moscow, Russia, in partnership with East 15 Acting School.
She is co-founder of how.dare.collective, a Toronto theatre collective that produced the smash fringe hit Lysistrata (Toronto Fringe 2017).
Kay has worked as a director and assistant director in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Serbia.

As an artist, Kay's focus is on new work development and adaptations, including the reimagining and interrogation of classical text. She champions stories that investigate and highlight the experiences of women by showcasing theatrical works with a strong female narrative. Kay is the current Artistic Director of Little Lion Theatre Company, a company dedicated to sharing Canadian theatre with audiences in the UK.
